Why did you choose to attend a boarding school?
To be honest, I did not want to leave my family or my home for boarding school, but I believed that ISAK was the “best” choice for my life and I didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity. I had to force myself to do it for my future. It was a hard decision for me.
Why did you choose to attend ISAK?
I had a few options for high school. I was accepted by two other high schools, but ISAK was the best one – and the toughest one, too. I knew that going to ISAK would be more benefitting for my future even though it would be tough for me. I thought about the pros and cons of going to each high school and going to ISAK was the best option. I knew that I would grow a lot by attending this school. To be honest, it was a tough decision. It would have been easier for me to stay at home and attend a local school but I also knew that I had to give myself a discipline to grow and I could not be protected by my mother for whole life.
How has ISAK impacted your life?
To be honest, I cannot feel any huge impact on my life yet. But there are many little changes that are impacting me. One thing I’ve had to deal with is that there are a lot of students at ISAK who are really talented and they have skills that I don’t have. It’s easy to think, “I am stupid or I am just a kid” compared to some of these individuals. Of course, I have talents, too, but ISAK has made me realize that to really learn and grow, I have to put effort into it. That is the only way. 努力 has became a favorite word these days.
