Information provided by the ISAK Running Club
Running club members individually plan their own training schedule besides running on a required day (Tuesday and Thursday) as a regular activity. For example, some people challenge themselves to run once a day, everyday. We have been gaining not only physical strength but mental discipline by running.
Additionally, in 2014-2015, we participated in two marathon events (Chikumariver Half Marathon, Karuizawa Half Marathon) as volunteers. We are planning to involve more students from ISAK as volunteers at these two competitions next year. We are also looking for an opportunity to run in these kind of events, as a way to challenge ourselves and demonstrate improvement. One race we are considering for next year is the Matsumoto Running Festival.
Our ultimate goal is to create a bigger positive impact through running, and we are constantly brainstorming for the best ideas. Some projects we are considering are a sport day at ISAK and hosting a charity marathon event.
